Tax Apps Make Doing Your Taxes Easier
April showers bring May flowers…and April also brings the dreaded deadline for filing your yucky taxes. If you haven’t done yours yet and you aren’t planning on filing an extension, you have just enough time to get moving and get ‘em done.
Looking for Girl Scout Cookies? There’s An App for That
Thanks to Facebook, I am being given many, many opportunities to buy Girl Scout Cookies. Unfortunately, most of them live either way across the huge metropolis that is Los Angeles, or clear across the country. Since there is only a Cub Scout in my own household, I’ve had to find another way to get my yearly fix.
Apps that Make Thanksgiving Easy As…Pie
Whether you’re going to Grandma’s or hosting dinner at your own house, there’s an app to help see you through. For me Thanksgiving has five specific categories: food, drinks, kid entertainment, football, and shopping. Grab your smartphone and let’s go.
Evernote: Organize Your Personal and Business Lives
I used to have a daily planner – a bee-u-tee-ful leather-bound, chunky book that was bursting with sticky notes and was essentially my brain, and I couldn’t function properly without consulting it first. Then, I slowly moved towards technology to solve my organizing woes, but I never found anything that compared with the notes I was able to take and reference back and forth on that written planner until I found Evernote.
Best Waterproof Device Covers
My girlfriend just took a weekend trip to the beach, and totally unplugged. When she came back to reality, she realized just how much she missed, and vowed to never do that again. For myself, unplugging completely just is not going to happen.
Apps for Summer Road Trips
Whoever said getting there is half the fun may not have ever traveled with children. But armed with smartphone, you can all get to your destination safely while having more fun. Here are a few of my favorite apps that make traveling by car a little easier for everyone.
What is StumbleUpon?
If you’ve ever seen a little green and blue swirly ball at the top of pages and wondered what it was, I’m here to tell you: it’s StumbleUpon. The Internet is a huge place, and finding relevant information can be a bit daunting at times. Searching on the main engines brings up good results, but then you have to sort through and decide what is good and what isn’t.
iGuy Protects Your iPad from Bumps and Tumbles
I’m pretty clumsy, so protective coverings for all my devices is a no-brainer. This nifty foam case from Speck aptly named iGuy will protect your device from bumps and tumbles.
Postagram Postcard App: Wish You Were Here!
Regular postcards are so old-fashioned. The cool way to send a photo of your vacation (or anything else fun, for that matter) is through Postagram. This nifty app will send a printed photo postcard to your friends or family members anywhere in the world for only $.99.
BubCap Lets Your Kids Use Your Devices without Driving You Crazy
If you have an iPhone, iTouch or iPad and a toddler in your house, you’ve probably already realized that in a pinch, it provides great entertainment and/or acts as a quieting device in say…a restaurant, doctor’s office, you name it. That’s the good news. The bad news is that most toddlers can’t keep their tiny fingers off the “Home” button, rather than the game at hand.
