A Very Practical Application — In Case of Emergency (ICE)

Many of us have been putting ICE – In Case of Emergency information – in the address book on our phones for years. It’s a great way to put your emergency contact information in a place where it can be easily located. The bad news? Not everyone knows to look there for such information.

A newer way to do it: get one of the ICE apps that are out now. The simplest, best one I’ve found is the ICE app for iPhone. It keeps your emergency contact information and a bunch of other important goodies all in one place for easy access. There are four categories: My Info, My Contacts, My Medical, and My Allergies.

The developers suggest you place the ICE icon in the upper right-hand corner on the main screen of your phone, to help others find it easier. I would still enter my ICE in my contacts too – just in case someone looks there first and/or misses the app entirely.
