Tax Apps Make Doing Your Taxes Easier

April showers bring May flowers…and April also brings the dreaded deadline for filing your yucky taxes. If you haven’t done yours yet and you aren’t planning on filing an extension, you have just enough time to get moving and get ‘em done. Here’s a few of the best apps out there to help you get the job done fast so you can get on with your life (and get that refund check on its way to you!)

Get organized. Sometimes it’s not the task at hand that’s boggling, it’s getting all the things you need together to do it, especially true with taxes. This app gives you a checklist to ensure you’ll have everything you need at your fingertips to properly prepare your taxes. Later on, you can use the app to check on the status of your electronically filed return.

If you plan on filing a 1040 EZ form, it doesn’t get much easier than this app. TurboTax SnapTax allows you to take a smartphone photo of your W2 to import all of your information. Answer a few more questions, review the final return, and it files electronically for you. It’s free to download the app, pay if you use the app to file.

Get help if you need it. Sometimes, it all gets a little complicated, and you may need a little advice. If you don’t have your own accountant, you can find last minute help with H&R Block’s mobile app. Not only will you be able to search through a glossary of tax terms, but there’s also a large FAQ area for instant answers. Still need help? You’ll be able to easily find someone in your area to help you out in-person, and even schedule the appointment right from the app.
