Scam Alert — Justin Bieber Video on Facebook
Another day, another Facebook scam to be aware of. This time, it’s all about Justin Bieber:
“Justin Bieber STABBED By CRAZED Fan Outside NightClub! OMG! NOOOO! Could YOU Even Imagine?!?”
Let’s say you’re a bit bored, and decide to go ahead and click on the link to check it out. But there isn’t a video. Instead, you are asked to complete a survey, and given the opportunity to send the link to all of your Facebook friends. There isn’t a video — it’s all a scam. Scammers earn a commission for each survey that is completed, which is why they use lures like Justin Bieber to trick people into clicking, and sharing with as many people as possible. The more people they trick into doing the survey, the more money they earn.
What to do if you clicked on it? While I am sure the main reason for this scam is so someone can make some money, it’s still a good idea to make sure you didn’t pick up any malware along the way — run a free scan of ChicaPC-Shield™. Warn your friends to not click on links such as this one, and if you got this link in your New Feed yourself — delete it quickly so others don’t fall for it.
Enjoy Facebook responsibly — be careful what you click on!
